ICER's mission is to lead innovation in comparative effectiveness research through methods that integrate considerations of clinical benefit and economic value.  Through a unique collaboration with patients, clinicians, manufacturers, insurers and other healthcare stakeholders, ICER develops tools to support patient decisions and medical policy that share the goal of achieving maximum value for every healthcare dollar.

Washington publishes coverage decision using ICER results, Mar 2009
The state of Washington's Health Care Authority (HCA) published coverage decisions for Coronary CT Angiography in both the outpatient and emergency department settings in March 2009.  These decisions were based on evidence provided by ICER's appraisal on CCTA for detection of coronary artery disease.  HCA administers medical and prescription drug programs for over 500,000 Washington residents.
