ICER's mission is to lead innovation in comparative effectiveness research through methods that integrate considerations of clinical benefit and economic value.  Through a unique collaboration with patients, clinicians, manufacturers, insurers and other healthcare stakeholders, ICER develops tools to support patient decisions and medical policy that share the goal of achieving maximum value for every healthcare dollar.

ICER participates in expert panel sponsored by Chicago Tribune, Apr 2009
Dr. Pearson was asked to participate in an expert panel to provide a list of the clinical conditions that should be prioritized for formal comparative effectiveness research.  The panel's recommendations are summarized in a Chicago Tribune article published on April 24, 2009 -- "Effective medical treatment: $1.1 billion to study 'comparative effectiveness' research and evaluate therapies"
