ICER is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position(s:): Senior Research Associate Position Overview ICER is seeking a Senior Research Associate to work as part of our appraisal team alongside physicians, epidemiologists, and systematic reviewers. Under the direction of the Chief Review Officer, the Senior Research Associate will participate in multiple components of ICER’s research activities, including development and specifications of economic models, conduct of meta-analyses and other sophisticated statistical approaches to evidence synthesis, and manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of observational datasets, all of which will be used to inform real-world policy-making as well as clinician and patient education. Responsibilities of the position include: Modeling: - Structural development of decision-analytic, actuarial, and budget impact models and/or modification of existing models in collaboration with research team
- Estimation of model parameters, using both published and unpublished sources
- Conduct of relevant programming activities, including model development, calibration and validation, testing, and debugging
- Conduct of model simulations and analyses, including specification and conduct of one-way, multi-way, and probabilistic sensitivity analyses
Systematic Review/Meta-Analysis: - Oversight of data capture in appropriate format for quantitative synthesis
- Specification of appropriate analytic approach
- Conduct of analyses to explore and adjust for heterogeneity
Observational Study - Manage receipt and processing of internal and external datasets for analysis
- Creation of patient- and/or record-level analytic files
- Conduct of descriptive, stratified, and multivariable analyses as appropriate
General Requirements - Formatting of tabular and graphic displays of data to meet needs of diverse audiences
- Coordination and development of relevant components of draft and final appraisal reports, including writing, editing, and proofreading, as necessary
- Development of public communications, including web site content, presentations, and peer-review publications, as necessary
Qualifications - 5+ years’ experience in economic modeling, systematic review/meta-analysis, and analysis of observational datasets
- Master’s degree or doctorate in a relevant discipline, such as epidemiology, health economics, or public health
- Demonstrated skills with relevant computer applications, such as:
- Modeling: TreeAge, C++, Microsoft Excel
- Systematic Review/Meta-Analysis: WinBUGS, R, RevMan
- Observational Data: SAS/SPSS, Microsoft Access
- General: word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment with solid organizational skills
- High level of personal initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Flexibility to contribute to projects outside primary scope to meet the needs of the group
